When I go to upload a SNAPpy image, there are no files listed to select from. I can't find any place to specify or browse to the path where the desired image file is located

What version of Portal are you using and on what OS?

Portal version 2.2.29 on Windows XP

It sounds like the installer did not complete successfully. I would run the latest 2.4 Portal setup and see if that works since we have fixed some setup issues since 2.2. If it does not work please send us a copy of the installation log in the Portal directory.

If I run Portal 2.4, doi have to upgrade the firmware in the nodes also?

Yes, it is always recommended to run the latest SNAP code with the latest Portal.
