Is there a difference in power consumption between the RF ENGINE firmware version that comes with the EK2100 kit and the RF ENGINE 2.2.16 firmware?

I did a search and found that a "SNAP hardware manual rev 2" was mentioned, but I cannot find it. I am assuming this is newer than the SNAP Hardware Technical Manual v2.1 and that the SNAP Hardware Technical Manual v2.1 refers to the version that came with the kit and the SNAP hardware manual rev 2 refers to the v2.2.16 firmware.

No, the Hardware Reference Manual refers to hardware only. That is why it has not been updated as often as the SNAP Reference Manual, which refers to the software.

In general power consumption is the same between releases. We sometimes make improvements.

If you look at the SNAP 2.2 Firmware Release Notes, on page 10 under Operational Changes we mention that 2.2 has better sleep() current consumption than 2.1 when invoked over the air.
