i'm looking for a low cost GPS chip to implement with the RF engines. its for my senior design project so I wont be buying in large quantities and we have to keep our budget down. do you all have any suggestions? thanks for your time.

I don't know who has the best/cheapest GPS these days, but we have used the VincoTech A1035D (formerly the Tyco A1035) in the past. There's even a sample script for it already, look in your snappyImages directory for gpsNmea.py.

If you go looking for a better GPS, things to consider (in addition to cost) are antenna sensitivity and how long it takes the GPS to RE-acquire the satellites when it wakes back up from sleep.

try U-blox.
