Observant forum readers will have noticed that version 2.2 went "open beta" today. Everyone is invited to download it and try it out, especially those of you who have been waiting on new 2.2 features like:
Higher resolution timer hooks
Better string handling
(no more "one concatenation buffer, one slice buffer, one [] buffer")
Lockdown
("Don't accept any more OTA script downloads")
Trace Route
("How AM I reaching that particular node?")
Because we have been busy working on the code for 2.2, we have not yet had time to update the necessary documentation. Portal 2.2.17 still contains the various manuals from version 2.1 (under the Help menu).
Right now, all that is available to guide you is the Portal 2.2 Release Notes and the SNAP 2.2 Release Notes (plus what has been posted on the forum recently).
We also are still polishing up the example scripts that come with Portal. You may run across one that does not compile yet, or only runs on certain platforms.
Please post any findings to this thread of the forum (here under 2.2 BETA Support, not over in the regular support category).
