View Full Version : Robust Multi-File / SCM support in Portal

Right now, Portal makes it difficult to work with scripts that are broken out into multiple files.

1) You can only load scripts from the snappyImages directory.

2) You can't have subdirs under snappyImages.

3) You can't easily put snappyImages under SCM because it is full of demo software that you can't move anywhere else and still use.

4) Scripts loaded into Portal don't recompile their imports.

3) No multi-file find and replace. Heck, no single-file replace.

While the core of Portal/SNAP is solid, there is a lot of things that could be done to make it more robust for larger, multi-developer projects.

Thanks!

Tim

Thanks for the input, a lot of your suggestions we have been wanting to do for a while and will let everyone know when they get implemented.

Tim,

I think you will be happy with the latest release of Portal (2.4.31). This update includes the ability to change the location of your SNAPpyImages directory. This should alleviate the struggles related to your first three points.

Portal also has an updated "Find" tool that is valid across any number of source files.
