Since the modules are 2.4 GHz already, is there a way (or would there be) for letting them communicate directly to a wireless router?
Might be worth looking into this if you haven’t already. If there is a way, please point me in the right direction.

Right frequency, wrong type of radio hardware. They cannot talk to each other.
There are also 2.4 GHZ cordless phones. SNAP nodes cannot talk to them either.
It's an interesting idea, though. If you are willing to spend more $ on your radio hardware, you can make devices that can do more than one thing. If you are not already familiar with it, do a web search for "Software Defined Radio" sometime.
SNAP Nodes use "purpose-built" hardware, for 802.15.4, or 900MHZ (AKA 915 MHZ), etc. for cost and power reasons.

If you are wanting to tie a SNAP network into a TCP/IP network, you might want to look at the SNAP Connect E10.
The E10 Manual has already been posted over in the "Latest Releases" section of this forum.
